KeiCo Western 2.0 - Two-Bedroom Modular Glamping Pod
A substantial 6.6 × 4.6 m insulated Nordic timber pod with two private sleeping rooms, shared living space, a dedicated bathroom and a covered porch.
Two Private Bedrooms. One Considered Guest Retreat.
The KeiCo Western 2.0 develops the familiar curved form of the original Western Glamping Pod into a larger, two-module accommodation model designed around longer and more comfortable stays.
Measuring 6.6 × 4.6 m externally, the Western 2.0 can provide two separate sleeping rooms, a shared living and kitchen zone, a dedicated bathroom and a covered entrance porch within one distinctive Nordic timber structure.
Plans No. 1 and No. 2 create clear two-bedroom accommodation layouts. Plan No. 3 offers an alternative arrangement with two larger internal zones and two panoramic windows across the front elevation, with its final sleeping, living or alternative room uses agreed during project specification.
The result is more than a sleeping pod. It is a compact, self-contained accommodation environment that can be developed for glamping sites, holiday parks, boutique stays, rural retreats and other guest-led settings.
KeiCo can help connect the pod, floor plan, fit-out, foundations, services, access, delivery and installation within one clearly defined project scope.
One Footprint. Three Verified Layouts.
Each Western 2.0 plan uses the same 6.6 × 4.6 m external footprint, while changing the internal circulation, glazing and balance between shared and private space.
Plan No. 1 — Panoramic Façade
Plan No. 1 provides a stated 23.20 m² internal floor area, plus a 2.90 m² covered porch.
The plan comprises:
- One 10.0 m² main living and kitchen room
- Two private 5.0 m² sleeping rooms
- One 3.20 m² bathroom space
- One 2.90 m² covered porch
This is the balanced two-bedroom route shown in the original KeiCo concept plan, with a central shared space and similarly sized private rooms.
Plan No. 2 — Furnished Two-Bedroom Layout
Plan No. 2 provides a stated 23.72 m² internal floor area, plus a 2.30 m² covered porch.
The plan comprises:
- An approximately 11.17 m² combined living, kitchen and circulation zone
- Two private sleeping rooms of approximately 4.70 m² each
- One 3.15 m² bathroom space
- One 2.30 m² covered porch
The furnished drawing illustrates one way to organise seating, food preparation and sleeping accommodation. Furniture, cabinetry, appliances and sanitary equipment are illustrative unless expressly included in the approved quotation.
Plan No. 3 — Two Panoramic Front Windows
Plan No. 3 provides a stated 23.20 m² internal floor area, plus a 2.90 m² covered porch.
The plan comprises:
- Two internal zones of approximately 10.0 m² each
- One 3.20 m² bathroom space
- One 2.90 m² covered porch
- Two panoramic windows across the front elevation
This is the more flexible project layout. Its final bedroom, lounge, treatment, office or alternative room uses must be agreed during specification rather than inferred from the unfurnished drawing.
All areas are taken from the supplied plans. Final approved construction drawings take precedence, and room areas should not be treated as usable furniture clearances.
Designed Around Longer Stays
The Western 2.0 separates private sleeping space from the shared part of the stay.
Rather than asking every guest activity to take place within one open room, Plans No. 1 and No. 2 provide two private sleeping rooms alongside a central living and kitchen area.
This makes the pod particularly relevant for:
- Families travelling together
- Friends sharing a glamping stay
- Parents and children requiring separate rooms
- Two couples, subject to the selected bed layout and occupancy assessment
- Hospitality operators wanting a broader guest proposition than a studio pod
- Longer stays where privacy and internal organisation matter
Bed size, storage, circulation, ventilation, escape provision and maximum occupancy are resolved before the selected plan is approved.
Shared Living and Kitchen Zone
Plans No. 1 and No. 2 place a shared living and kitchen zone between the private rooms and bathroom.
This creates a practical central space for preparing food, dining, relaxing and moving between the principal rooms without using a bedroom as a thoroughfare.
The supplied concept imagery illustrates a compact worktop, sink and storage arrangement. The furnished Plan No. 2 also demonstrates how food-preparation space and informal seating could work together.
Kitchen furniture and equipment are configured separately. The final cabinetry, sink, appliances, electrical load, water supply, waste connection, ventilation and clearances are confirmed through the Functional Kitchen Upgrade.
Dedicated Bathroom
Each plan contains a separate bathroom space of approximately 3.15–3.20 m², depending on the selected layout.
This creates a defined area in which a shower, toilet and basin package can be developed without compromising the private bedrooms or main living zone.
The room and sanitary fit-out are treated separately. Shower arrangement, sanitary ware, hot-water provision, extraction, waterproof finishes, drainage, access and service connections are confirmed through the Bathroom Fit-Out Upgrade and final project quotation.
Insulated Nordic Timber Construction
The Western 2.0 is formed from two insulated half-pod modules that can be brought together on site, subject to the selected delivery and installation route.
The confirmed core construction comprises:
- Solid Nordic pine timber construction
- Insulated pine timber floor
- Insulated wall construction
- Bitumen-shingled curved roof
- Integrated ventilation
- Anthracite-painted windows
- Single-leaf entrance door
- Internal room divisions and doors according to the approved plan
- Covered entrance porch
- 28 mm impregnated porch decking boards
The arched roof, warm timber-facing and dark external trim preserve the recognisable character of the original Western family while allowing the larger 2.0 model to meet a different accommodation requirement.
Insulation build-up, thermal values, heating design, glazing performance, ventilation, roof construction and internal finishes are confirmed within the approved technical specification. Actual comfort and operating performance depend on the completed specification, intended use, site exposure and local climate.
