KC ICON 200 Outdoor Cube Sauna — Thermowood | In Stock

£4,950.00

A Thermowood ICON 200, Ready for the Next Stage

The KC ICON 200 Ready Thermowood Cube Sauna is a compact outdoor sauna held in stock for customers wanting a shorter route from product selection to completed installation.

Its softly squared profile creates more usable room around the shoulders and back than a conventional round barrel of a similar footprint, while opposing benches form a comfortable environment for individual use, couples and shared sessions of up to four people.

A bronze-tinted glass entrance introduces natural light without opening the entire front elevation, creating a considered balance between privacy, enclosure and connection to the garden.

The core Thermowood structure is already available. You can then complete the project around your preferred heater, finish, installation route and wider wellness setup.

More Usable Space Within a Compact Footprint

The ICON 200 measures 2.05m wide and 2m deep, making it suitable for gardens and wellness spaces where every metre matters.

Its approximately 1,960mm × 1,600mm internal floor area accommodates opposing benches while retaining a clear route between the entrance and heater.

The cube-style profile creates more usable room around the upper body than a traditional circular barrel and provides a balanced layout for:

  • Individual and couple use
  • Small families
  • Shared sessions with friends
  • Morning and evening sauna routines
  • Post-training recovery
  • Holiday lets and boutique stays
  • Compact sauna-and-cold-plunge projects

The footprint also leaves more of the surrounding garden available for an outdoor shower, cold plunge, terrace or landscaped recovery area.

Why Thermowood?

Thermowood is thermally modified to improve dimensional stability and reduce moisture absorption when compared with untreated timber.

It provides:

  • A darker, richer natural colour
  • Improved stability through changing weather conditions
  • Reduced swelling and shrinkage
  • A contemporary architectural appearance
  • Strong suitability for exposed outdoor settings

The material gives the ICON 200 a warm but modern character that sits naturally within both traditional gardens and more architectural outdoor spaces.

Correct installation, exterior protection and ongoing maintenance remain essential for long-term performance.

Bronze-Glass Entrance

The entrance door measures approximately 590mm × 1,690mm and is manufactured from 8mm bronze-tinted tempered glass.

The glazing allows daylight into the sauna while preserving a substantial timber front elevation around it.

This creates:

  • A brighter internal environment
  • A stronger connection with the garden
  • Greater enclosure than a full-glass frontage
  • A clean, framed architectural appearance

Perceived privacy changes according to internal and external lighting conditions, so the final position should still account for neighbouring properties and garden sightlines.

Configure Your Build

The displayed price includes the held-stock Thermowood sauna structure.

The OPTIS configurator then allows you to complete the product around your preferred heat experience, finish and level of KeiCo support.

1. Choose Your Heat

Select a compatible:

FAQ's

Do I need planning permission for an outdoor sauna in the UK?

Many domestic garden saunas can be installed without a full planning application, but there is no blanket exemption. In England, sauna cabins are specifically included within the planning rules for garden outbuildings. Whether permitted development applies will depend on the sauna’s position, height, proximity to boundaries, total garden coverage, property type and any local restrictions. The KC ICON 200 is approximately 2.1m high, but height alone does not determine whether permission is required. Listed properties, conservation or designated areas, commercial use and some wood-fired chimney arrangements may require additional approval. We recommend consulting with us regarding the proposed location before beginning base or installation works.

What size sauna heater does the KC ICON 200 need, and should I choose electric or wood-fired?

The correct sauna heater must be calculated from the effective heated-room volume rather than the external dimensions alone. Harvia’s guidance uses approximately 1kW of heater power for each cubic metre of sauna volume, with additional allowance required for glass and other non-insulated surfaces. Each square metre of glass can add the equivalent of approximately 1.2m³ to the heater calculation. Because the KC ICON 200 includes an 8mm bronze-glass door, an 8kW-class heater is generally the appropriate starting point, but KeiCo will confirm the final package against the chosen timber, glazing, electrical supply and intended use. Electric heat offers straightforward operation, precise controls and optional WiFi functionality. Wood-fired heat creates a more traditional, fire-led experience but requires the correct stove, chimney, heat shielding and safety clearances.

How much does an outdoor sauna cost to run in the UK?

The simplest way to estimate an electric sauna’s running cost is: Heater output in kW × operating time in hours × your electricity unit rate For example, using an illustrative electricity rate of 26p per kWh, an 8kW heater drawing full power for one hour would cost approximately £2.08. The actual session cost may be lower or higher because the heater normally cycles once the target temperature has been reached. Warm-up time, outdoor temperature, selected timber, glazing, door opening, session length and your electricity tariff will all affect consumption. The current average default-tariff electricity rate across Great Britain is approximately 26.11p per kWh for July to September 2026, although the rate paid by an individual customer will vary by tariff, region and payment method.

What base does the KC ICON 200 outdoor sauna need?

The KC ICON 200 must sit on a solid, level, well-drained and load-bearing base. Suitable foundation routes may include: A correctly prepared concrete slab Paving laid on a compacted structural sub-base An engineered ground-screw foundation A reinforced deck designed for the completed load An existing hardstanding confirmed as suitable The sauna weighs approximately 700–800kg before the heater, users and accessories are added, so it should not be installed directly onto grass, loose soil or an uneven surface. The base should support the full footprint evenly, allow water to drain away and leave sufficient surrounding space for assembly and future maintenance. KeiCo can review the proposed site and provide a separate base-preparation quotation where required.

Should I choose Nordic Spruce or Thermowood for an outdoor sauna?

Neither timber is universally better; the right choice depends on the desired appearance, site exposure and maintenance preference. Nordic Spruce provides a lighter, more traditional Scandinavian appearance. It accepts clear and coloured exterior treatments well and is ideal for customers wanting a classic pale-timber sauna. Thermowood has a darker, richer colour and is thermally modified to reduce moisture absorption, swelling and shrinkage. The process improves dimensional stability and resistance to biological degradation, making Thermowood particularly attractive for more exposed outdoor locations. Both materials still require correct installation, exterior protection and ongoing inspection. Nordic Spruce is usually chosen for its traditional character, while Thermowood is often selected for its architectural appearance and improved stability in changing weather conditions.
