KC 290 Terrace Outdoor Barrel Sauna
A Longer Barrel Sauna with Space to Breath, Cool Down and Reset
A considered sauna room, a sheltered front terrace and two distinct glazing experiences.
The KC 290 Terrace Outdoor Barrel Sauna extends the familiar warmth of Nordic barrel architecture into a more complete garden-wellness format. Its 2.9 m depth provides a dedicated sauna room together with a recessed 0.7 m covered terrace - a useful sheltered point for towels, footwear and the transition between heat and fresh air.
Built in 42 mm Thermowood, the structure combines a naturally warm timber tone with reduced moisture movement. Choose the more enclosed Glass Door configuration or open the sauna towards its surroundings with the Panoramic Glass Wall. Heating, installation and ongoing ownership support can then be coordinated around your site through KeiCo.

A Sauna and Terrace in One Coherent Form
The KC 290 retains the efficient, enveloping interior associated with barrel saunas while adding a sheltered threshold at the entrance. The front terrace creates a practical buffer between the garden and sauna room without requiring a separate changing-room building.
Its 2.2 m-wide circular profile gives the sauna an architectural presence while remaining comparatively compact in depth. Natural timber grain, tone and knot pattern will vary. Final dimensions, component positions and foundation requirements must always follow the source-specific drawing issued for the ordered configuration.
Choose Your Glazing
Glass Door
The Glass Door configuration pairs a tall glazed entrance with a more enclosed Thermowood façade. It creates a private, traditional sauna atmosphere and is the lower-priced route into the KC 290.
Panoramic Glass Wall
The Panoramic Glass Wall introduces broader toughened glazing around the entrance, bringing more garden light into the sauna and creating a lighter, more contemporary façade. It is particularly effective where the outlook forms part of the bathing experience.
Glazing layout, reflections and timber tone can appear different across technical renders and lifestyle imagery. The confirmed source article and issued drawing - not an image alone - define the supplied configuration.
Thermowood Construction
Thermowood is thermally modified to create its characteristic warm tone and reduce moisture movement compared with untreated timber. It remains a natural material and still requires a correctly detailed base, ventilation, weather protection and periodic inspection.
An appropriate external care treatment may be used where maintaining the original colour is important. Without UV protection, the exposed surface will gradually weather towards a natural silver-grey. Products applied inside the hot room must be suitable for sauna use and agreed before treatment.
Build Your KeiCo Wellness Space
The structure is the starting point. KeiCo can help coordinate a suitable electric sauna heater and controls, electrical preparation guidance, professional installation, access planning and selected OPTIS wellness accessories. Heater output must be matched to the confirmed internal volume, glazing area, site conditions and available electrical supply.
This creates a clear route from a well-specified structure-only purchase to a more complete, supported garden wellness project.

Dimensions and Site Preparation
The approximate external dimensions are 2,200 mm wide × 2,900 mm deep × 2,250 mm high. The layout provides an approximate 1.6 m² sauna room and 0.7 m² covered terrace. Allow additional working space around the structure for assembly, ventilation, drainage, roof overhangs and future maintenance.
A firm, level and correctly sized base is essential. Before ordering, KeiCo recommends confirming site access, unloading route, boundary clearances, base construction, drainage, electrical route and any local planning or building-control considerations. Final base work should follow the drawing issued for the selected source article.
